Twenty-five-year-old Bahta (Lotfi Abdelli, winner of the Best Actor Award at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival) has no job, no degree and no prospects. His one passion is breakdancing, but even that outlet is regularly and violently repressed by the cops. Both his parents, especially his mother (Fatma Ben Saidane), disapprove of his choices and even his girlfriend (Afef Ben Mahmoud) is fed up with his pipe dreams of becoming a dancer. As if this weren’t enough, living as a Tunisian in a post 9/11 world has only further damaged Bahta’s feeling of self-worth. And, it’s these multiple blows and humiliation to his manhood that causes Bahta to act out in rebellious stunts, attracting unwanted attention from a group of fundamentalists. And, it is at this point, that the film takes a pivotal turn when when director Bouzid breaks the fourth wall and introduces a twist that will leave viewers questioning everything they have seen."
