"RED SOX BABY swings for the fences in its pursuit of helping usher in the next generation of “Red Sox Nation” with a grand slam view of the sights, sounds, traditions and colors of Boston’s legendary baseball team. The light, fun-filled program features officially licensed footage from the 2007 MLB Playoffs and World Series as well as highlights of the show-stopping Red Sox players, amazing home runs, dedicated fans, loveable mascot Wally the Green Monster™, and famed Fenway Park with the one-and-only Green Monster wall, interspersed with extensive imagery of adorable kids decked out in Red Sox gear and playing with a variety of licensed products.
The footage is tied together through an engaging storyline by celebrated children’s author Jim Buckley and is enhanced by a spirited soundtrack with all-new original songs by John Lennon Songwriting Award-winning children’s musician Joe McDermott. McDermott created such catchy tunes as “Let’s Go to a Red Sox Game” and “I Love the Boston Red Sox” exclusively for the DVD release.
Moreover, the DVD not only entertains young children, but also provides a learning experience. Divided into nine innings, RED SOX BABY utilizes specific Red Sox footage, graphics and merchandise to help teach children such early-learning skills as counting, spelling, shape and color recognition. The storyline also emphasizes teamwork and safety using elements from the game of baseball as well as the Boston Red Sox. Additional segments are dedicated to a pre-game warm up and an “Extra Inning” bonus feature with outtakes and other funny Red Sox bits."
