Vintage Trailer: Viva!

Oh, those swinging '70s. You always can count on them for finding a vintage movie trailer worth noting for its spectacular trashiness.

Below is the trailer for the 1972 sex potboiler, "Viva!" Here, you will meet Barbie, your typical suburban housewife who spoils her husband with her gourmet cooking and, um, other things. Barbie has everything anyone could possibly hope for--so, why is she so miserable? Could it be that she's...missing something?

Do note the performances. The set design. The dialog. The sheer wit running throughout. And do note how we've regressed since the '7os. None of this ever would play today, which make it such a curious little throwback. A saucy historical footnote on a time that never will be again.

Viva deserves awards! It deserves attention! It deserves, at the very least, a release on DVD!
