Ripping Off Eagle Eye

Recycled, rehashed crap--that the vibe the upcoming "Echelon Conspiracy" is giving off. Obviously taking a note from "Eagle Eye," here is another movie that features another bossy robotic female voice pushing around its main character with all sorts of nasty repercussions. The tagline is a hoot: "Even the truth can be killed."

Not when the reviews come out, cookie.

The official plot goes like this: "Mysterious cell phone messages promise a young American engineer untold wealth -- then make him the target of a deadly international plot. Dangerous security operatives chase the engineer across the globe, while a powerful government official pursues a mysterious agenda that threatens the stability of the entire world."

The film stars Shane West, Edward Burns and Ving Rhames. It opens wide Feb. 20, 2009.
