Melissa Leo won the Independent Spirit Award for her Oscar nominated performance as a hard- luck single mother who resorts to immigrant smuggling to earn extra cash.
Frozen River, which you must see on DVD and which is reviewed here, won top juried awards at Sundance. Congrats to all of the 2009 Independent Spirit Award winners.

I know you were rooting for her so I'm really glad she did get recognized for her performance. I haven't seen the movie but have heard great things about it. Maybe there will be a shake up tonight! Have a great day!!
