Roman Polanski Removed from Swiss Jail for Medical Treatment
Reuters reports that the director, facing extradition to the US for a 1977 rape conviction, has been moved from his jail cell to seek medical treatment for an undisclosed condition.
From the report:
"All I know is that he has been taken from prison for medical attention. I don't know where he is or when he will be returned to prison," French lawyer Herve Temime told Reuters."
He said he did not have any other details.
Polanski, whose lawyer has recently said was suffering from depression, is still in Swiss custody as he waits for US authorities to make an official extradition request.
