Sylvester Stallone tells the fan site Stallone Zone that the story for the upcoming fifth "Rambo" feature, "A Savage Hunt," has changed slightly.

According to the site, from the mouth of John Rambo himself: "I'm letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. 'Rambo' himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished. There will be blood."

The storyline that he's referring to had Rambo hunting a genetically engineered creature, which has escaped from a lab in the Pacific Northwest. That story, based on James Huggins' novel "Hunter," will now possibly become a separate film in itself.

For fans of Stallone and Rambo this is fantastic news because the sound of Rambo chasing a genetically enhanced creature doesn’t sound that great to me. Hopefully, the retooling of the “Rambo” story will evolve into something more creative and frankly, badass. As Sly said in his statement, “there will be blood.”

Also, if done right, the adaptation of “Hunter” could turn into a successful starring vehicle for Stallone.

“Rambo V” is scheduled to be released in 2011.
