"The A-Team" Movie Trailer Review

This year has a ton of great films coming out that I am looking forward to seeing, such as “Iron Man 2,” “Kick-Ass,” “Hot Tub Time Machine" and “The Green Hornet."  I could go on and on. But of all those movies there is one I am looking forward to most: “The A-Team.”

The remake stars Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, Quinton Jackson and Sharlto Copley as a group of ex-United States Special Army Forces who are on the run from the government for a crime they didn't commit. The film finally has a trailer and it’s great.  (A lower-quality leaked version appeared online recently only to be taken down in most places at the studio’s request.)

The trailer keeps the classic music and style of the television series, and really pushes the action to the extreme, which is getting me even more excited for this flick.

Alongside Jackson’s take on B.A. Baracus, originally made famous by Mr. T, the film stars Neeson as Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, Cooper as Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck and "District 9’s" Copley as “Howling Mad” Murdock.

The casting of this film is seriously perfect. Neeson looks ridiculously badass as Hannibal--cigar, bravado and everything. Cooper and Copley have quickly become two of my favorite actors and they look extremely comfortable in their character's shoes. Joining the male action heroes is Jessica Biel as Faceman’s ex (of course).

The most ridiculous part of the trailer comes at the end with Cooper’s Faceman, manning a tank that's falling from the sky and still shooting bad guys with its machine gun. Hey, there’s parachutes attached to it, so it’s all good.

Does it look like an Oscar winner? No. But that’s not what I want from this movie. What I want is a solid story, a great cast, some over-the-top explosions and witty dialogue. From the trailer, it looks as if I am going to get just that.

Look for “The A-Team” June 11, 2010.

Wow, I really like the end of the trailer. I was a fan of the series. I can't wait to see this movie.

I loved the original show, and enjoyed seeing reruns of it, a few years back. As far as remakes go, this looks pretty promising. Looks like they put some thought into the casting rather than rehashing the same ole faces - e.g. Will Smith as Baracus, Brad Pitt as Face, Owen Wilson as Murdock, George Clooney as Hannibal.

This is good compared to what I thought they may have done. Not as good as if they could have gotten the original A-Team(or at least Mr.T as BA). Love how they used the opening intro from the show for the Trailer.

What made the A-Team work was that they had real explosions, and things getting blown up, lots of bullets... and nobody died. The new movie is no doubt filled with amazing special effects and blood, death and sex.... but its not the A-Team.
The series worked because it was silly and camp... like the Dukes of Hazard. Anything sexy was family oriented. I no longer go to the movies because I am tired of them spending a gazillion dollars trying to impress me with all those special effects and sex scenes that have little to do with the content of the show. I want stunt men, and gas bombs, and cars being crashed.
Most of the cast was in grade school when the A-Team was grabbing millions of viewers every week. You can't remake a classic. Sorry, I'll stick with the team that I know and love
