Adam and Eve to Get the 3-D Treatment
Adam and Eve to Get the 3-D Treatment
By our guest blogger, Tim Strain
The story as old as time may finally be coming to the big screen in the way The Divine Creator wanted it to--in glorious, eye-popping, nausea-inducing 3-D.
Deadline Hollywood’s Mike Fleming is reporting that Walden Media co-founder Cary Granat is set to produce a $30 million adaptation of the story of creation, entitled “In the Beginning,” for Paramount Pictures. David Cunningham (“The Seeker: The Dark is Rising”) will direct the script by John Fusco (“Hidalgo”). The source material is, of course, the Book of Genesis.
Granat is known for squeaky-clean family fare such as “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” “In the Beginning” will be targeted at the same demographic, assuring the widest audience possible. This means that there will undoubtedly be a lot of strategically placed apples and leaves rather than free-spirited nudity, unfortunately.
Reel FX is currently working on a sample of the film’s visual effects, and if the footage is given the thumbs-up by Paramount execs, the film will be given the green light and go into production. At this point, no other cast or crew has been announced. Only God knows what the next film given the suddenly all-the-rage (thanks a lot, “Avatar”) 3-D treatment will be.
In other bizarre and somewhat related news, the Jacksonville, Florida-based adult sex toy store Adam and Eve was robbed by a man and woman on Monday night.
