"The Warrior's Way" Movie Trailer Review
Movie Trailer Review

“The Warrior’s Way” is an upcoming fantasy action film by director Sngmoo Lee. Boiled down to its simplest form, this movie is cowboys versus ninjas.
You’ve probably already decided whether you’re interested or not.
When a master assassin refuses to kill a child, he is forced to flee from the organization he belongs to. He ends up hiding in a town in the American Badlands, but his past catches up with him, leading to a battle between ninjas and the local gunslingers.
From the scenes we are shown in the two-and-a-half minute trailer, it’s clear that there is a fantasy element to the movie as ninjas move in ways no human ever could hope to move. A lot of the backgrounds are clearly CGI, vaguely reminding one of “300.” It is not yet clear if this will end up working for “The Warrior’s Way,” however.
The battles are entertaining, with traditional high-flying martial arts action between the ninjas. You don’t actually see much fighting between the two different groups, which will make the seeing them fight for the first time at the theater more enjoyable.
What this trailer has going for it is that it makes the movie look fun, and that’s probably all one should expect from a flick with ninjas leaping across rooftops in a dusty, western town. Still, it still doesn’t quite sell itself as a must see movie. With other movies already made with similar styles, “The Warrior’s Way” needs to differentiate itself and not use its premise as a crutch to hold up a clichéd movie. More needs to be shown about the film before this reviewer can give a full recommendation.
