Ghostbusters 3 Back from the Dead?

Movie News

In over the AP wire is word that "Ghostbusters 3" may actually have some life in it after all. Director/producer Ivan Reitman, responsible for the first two films as well as this year's rom com "No Strings Attached," has confirmed that a script has been completed and it has been sent to star Bill Murray. Reitman also offered up the vague statement that "nothing you've read on the internet is accurate." Normally, that statement would be like saying "the sky is blue" or "frogs are green" but let's look at who's been making those statements on the internet, shall we?

Oh, look, it's Dan Ackroyd. And it's not just on the Internet. Ackroyd started things off this year with an interview with a Chicago radio station wherein he dropped such names as Bill Hader, Anna Farris and Eliza Dushku (who Ackroyd had mentioned as far back as last February). At some point Milano and Dushku were indicated by Ackroyd to be a possible all-female Ghostbusters team...which Milano adamantly denied knowing anything about.

To make matters more complicated, Bill Murray has been pretty vocal about his lack of interest in the project, which he famously called his "nightmare" on Letterman, going on to say that he would only do it if his character was killed in the first reel. Of course, since Letterman is just a famous Internet blogger and Murray a troll, we should listen to Reitman and not believe anything they say.
