Update: McG in Negotiations to Direct "Ouija"

Deadline has just posted that McG is the choice to direct "Ouija." McG is now in contract negotiations with Universal and "Ouija" is set to be the next Hasbro property to transition to the screen after Peter Berg's Battleship. McG will likely be joined by the "Tron: Legacy" screenwriting team of Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, who wrote the pitch McG used in his initial meeting with Universal. Universal is putting a lot of hope behind "Ouija" and "Battleship," with the rumored Taylor Lautner-starring "Stretch Armstrong" suffering production delays.

Tellingly, all three of these films are expected to be released in 2012. Why is this important you ask? Well, it means one of two things: a) "Ouija," "Battleship" and "Stretch Armstrong" are all obvious signs of the prophesied end of the world event that will happen in 2012 or b) that whole 2012 craziness was off on its date and the world will actually end on November 12, 2012, when "Ouija" will supposedly debut instead of December 21.

If we hear about production delays for "Ouija," though, well...I guess that just means we're all doomed.
