The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog has announced that Stanley Tucci will be joining Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Killer production as a villain. Singer, who is best known for directing the first two thirds of the X-Men franchise as well as The Usual Suspects, is new to the fantasy action subgenre but has already found some excellent additions to his cast outside of Tucci. Bill Nighy and John Kassir have both been confirmed to be a part of the film, with the two jointly playing the role of Fallon, the two-headed king of the giants.

While Singer has yet to cast the title role, Heat Vision claims that some sources say Nicholas Hoult is being considered by the director for the part. Tucci himself will also be appearing soon in the Captain America film as Dr. Erskine while Nighy can soon be seen in the final installment of the Harry Potter franchise.

Singer has had some problems finding success on the big screen lately, with both Valkyrie and Superman Returns being large disappointments critically and not quite as successful commercially as studios had hoped. Though he has produced the hit show "House," most of Singer's upcoming work is to be in theatres, including a planned big screen adaptation of "Battlestar Galactica" that's said to depart from the recent show and a production credit on the X-Men reboot X-Men: First Class. Hopefully Singer can turn things around and return to the vanguard of mainstream directors.
