Wonder Woman Pilot to be like Ally McBeal?

The script for David E. Kelley's "Wonder Woman" pilot leaked earlier this week on Bleeding Cool's forums, and already it looks poised to dethrone "The Cape" as the most ridiculous premier of all-time. But the ridiculousness of "Wonder Woman" has more to do with Kelley attempting to make the show a hybridization of the source material and his stranglehold on patently bizarre law dramedies like "Ally McBeal" than with over-the-top cheesiness.

But let's just go through some key components of the script first, shall we?

- Wonder Woman uses the phrase "you go, girl." Unironically.

- Wonder Woman has a "Big and Carrie"-style romance with Steve Trevor, the government agent who crashed onto the island her and the rest of the Amazons live on and brought her back to New York, where he apparently split up with her.

- A team of "CSI"-style agents, all twentysomethings, of course, are Wonder Woman's version of Buffy's "Scoobies." They're different because they like Kanye West.

- For some reason, Wonder Woman has multiple "secret" identities, only one of which is actually secret and both of which involve her not really disguising herself. The multiple identities seem to just exist to alternate between scenes of Wonder Woman as a mousy young woman, Wonder Woman as a powerful businesswoman and Wonder Woman as, uh, Wonder Woman.

In between all those developments are scenes of Wonder Woman having a sleepover with her friends in some sexy PJ's, singing along to the radio to such wonderful tracks as "I Only Know How to Love" by Christian Aguilera, and joking about her bracelets with senators.

So, yes, fans, this is exactly the type of realistic reboot you were looking for.
