Jordana Brewster Joins "Dallas" Reboot

Over recent years, cable television channels such as TNT, AMC and FX have produced some of the best shows on TV. TNT has had great success with many of its shows, including "The Closer," "Men of a Certain Age" and "Southland," and is hoping to score another hit with its adaptation of the classic TV show "Dallas."
The project is written by Cynthia Cidre and, according to TV Line, the show recently made its first casting choice--and it's a pretty solid one. The site reports that actress Jordana Brewster, best known for her work in the "Fast and the Furious" series, has been cast in the lead role in "Dallas."
Cidre ("Cane," "Mambo Kings") is penning the reboot of the classic soap, the story will center on feuding cousins John Ross and Christopher, the offspring of brothers J.R. and Bobby Ewing, as they clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty. Brewster will play Elena, "the gorgeous daughter of the ranch's cook who is locked in a love triangle with Christopher and John."
Former "Dallas" stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy are set to reprise their roles from the original series as Sue Ellen and Bobby, respectively. Also, after long negotiations, Larry Hagman, who played J.R., has verbally committed to the project, but has yet to sign a deal.
Maybe it's just a boyhood crush, but for some reason, I've always liked Brewster. Clearly, she's gorgeous and while I don’t think she's one of the "best" actresses out there, I am always satisfied with her performances. I thought she was solid throughout the entire "Fast and the Furious" series and I also thought she was great in a supporting role in "The Faculty" back in the day.
Either way, Brewster fits in perfectly with this role--basically, she just has to look gorgeous and make two dudes lust after her. Should be pretty easy for this actress.
Brewster will next reprise her role as Mia Toretto in the upcoming "The Fast and the Furious" sequel, "Fast Five."
