The latest sitcom from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant will welcome Johnny Depp in a cameo role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Despite “The Tourist” being skewered by Gervais at the Golden Globe Awards, it seems that Depp has a good sense of humor and hasn’t let Gervais’s jokes keep the two from working together.
Ah, it’s refreshing to see that some Hollywood stars don’t take themselves too seriously. Even if he does dress like a college student trying too hard to be cool, he at least strikes us as down-to-earth in the ways that matter.
The sitcom, entitled “Life’s Too Short,” will star Warwick Davis of “Willow” fame (if you grew up on that film, he’ll always be famous to you) as the head of a talent agency for dwarves.
Well, no one ever accused Ricky Gervais of being particularly sensitive. Still, given his track record, we can’t help but imagine that this will be yet another hysterical show from the brilliant comedian, although we wonder how successful it will be without him in the main role. Does Warwick Davis have comedic skills?
As was the case with his previous show “Extras,” “Life’s Too Short” will feature several celebrity cameos throughout the season. The show will be broadcast on BBC2 and HBO.
