TMNT: DVD, HD DVD, Blu-ray Review

Cowabungled.

Presumably, the title was shortened to give the franchise a hipper edge, but this big-screen, CGI version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, once so popular in the '90s, has nothing on the remake of the "Transformers," which re-envisioned its franchise with ease.

Set mostly in Manhattan, the movie follows Leonardo (James Arnold Taylor), Michelangelo (Mikey Kelley), Donatello (Mitchell Whitfield) and Raphael (Nolan North) through some messy family issues before they gather to fight their new foe, Maximilian J. Winter (Patrick Stewart).

The animation is very good--at its best, the film looks like a noir comic book from the 1940s--so it's a shame that the script was given only passing consideration.

Rated PG. Grade: C
