New Poster: Igor!

Above is the new poster for the upcoming movie "Igor," which already has my interest. The film is from The Weinstein Co., which brought us Hoodwinked. The studio's official plot synopsis goes down like this: "'Igor' is a playfully irreverent comedy that brings a new twist to the classic monster genre. In a world filled with Mad Scientists and Evil Inventions, one talented evil scientist's hunch-backed lab assistant has big dreams of becoming a Mad Scientist himself and winning the annual Evil Science Fair."

Given that rundown, it is surprising that George Bush isn't doing the voice work for Igor (he's a natural!), but no. Instead, it's John Cusack, who joins the likes of Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, Eddie Izzard, Jennifer Coolidge, Molly Shannon, Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall and James Lipton, among others, in a movie that already looks hugely promising.

Look for it on September 19, 2008.

And then maybe look for it at next year's Academy Awards.
