"How to Train Your Dragon" Movie Trailer Review

If we're of the same mind, you likely won't disagree with me in assuming that training a mythical dragon is probably harder than training a dog. Likewise, you probably won't make a peep when I say having a "unique" sense of humor can make you an outcast when your friends and family are traditional. So, if we're in agreement, the upcoming "How to Train Your Dragon" appears from its trailer that it's not to be missed.

The story revolves around a teenager named Hiccup, who's quirky sense of humor separates him from his family and neighborhood tribe. He isn't interested in contributing to the ongoing rivalry between his fellow Vikings and the dragons, and this enlarges the rift between him and his family. But when Hiccup enters into the customary "Dragon Training" program, not only does he realize the Dragons aren't as dangerous or as harmful as his family claims they are, but he recognizes the program as his chance to prove himself as something more than the town joker. This means that at its core, "How to Train Your Dragon" is one of those uplifting stories about an endearing underdog that will have audiences leaving the theater with a spring in their step.

If the plot sounds more suitable for your 7-year-old brother, perhaps the voice cast is more up your alley. Hiccup is voiced by Jay Baruchel ("Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist," "The 40 Year Old Virgin") and the rest of the characters are portrayed by such impressive actors as Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, Craig Ferguson, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Kristen Wiig. So, not a bad cast in what looks to be a fun movie.
