"Cats & Dogs: The Revege of Kitty Galore" Movie Trailer Review

Let's begin at the beginning. First of all, did you know that the tagline for “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” is this: “In the age-old battle between cats and dogs, one crazed feline has taken things a paw too far”? Please take a moment to think about this.

(!!!!)

I don’t really understand how one can take things "a paw too far.” It’s not even a pun; it’s more of a Zen koan about paws and objects and distance. As for the name, I wonder if the genius auteurs behind this film realize that “Kitty Galore” is just one euphemism away from “Pussy Galore?” I like a sexy Bond girl as much as the next feminist (read: very little), but will no one think of the children?

Another confusing fact about "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" is that it stars a veritable murderer's row of Oscar nominees and Emmy winners. Bette Midler stars as the titular Kitty Galore, and "30 Rock" star Alec "Stormy Hot Dad" Baldwin and Jack "Yokel Muffin" McBrayer also appear. Actors from "Mad Men" and the late, great "Sopranos" also appear, as well as Roger More, best known as one of the lesser Bonds. (Chris O'Donnell is in it too, but he doesn't count.) Color me bemused--have these actors no agents? Were they just so curious about what "a paw too far" meant that they were forced to sign onto this film?

To heap insult upon injury, the CGI in this epic makes "Baby Geniuses" look like "Avatar." Perhaps taking things "a paw too far" just means "sucking"? We're going to have to call in Noam Chomsky if we want to figure this one out.
