Lutz, Momoa Oiling Up For "Conan the Barbarian" Remake?
"Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz and "Stargate Atlantis" co-star Jason Momoa are both being considered to play Conan the Barbarian in the upcoming remake, says Deadline Hollywood.
According to Deadline Hollywood: The list of eligible Conan actors had been dwindled down to Kellan Lutz and Jason Momoa. The pair, along with a third and more-established but unnamed actor, are all being considered before the studio decides on the role.
Kellan told E! Online: "They're finalizing so they're trying to figure out what happens next. I've been waiting for a while, doing screen tests. There are just so many cooks in the kitchen. If it happens, it happens…Regardless, it's not gonna be the new Arnold Schwarzenegger type of movie, no one's going to try and play that role. I think they're going younger, a different type of story. I'm just excited, because the script is great."
Neither of these dudes are as buff as Ah-nold was back in the day, so we’ll see if the studio decides to make them hit the gym a little extra for the role. Either way, another remake is on the way, and only time will tell if it’s a good one.
Marcus Nispel helms the project, which kicks off filming March 15, 2010 in Bulgaria.
