NBC has unveiled the final roster for SNL's last few episodes of the season and it's an equal mix of returning vets and newbies. The most recent additions are Ed Helms and Paul Simon, who will be together for the May 14th episode. Helms will be making his SNL debut to promote the upcoming The Hangover II while Simon will enjoy his 8th appearance to promote his latest album, So Beautiful or So What.
The week before the Helms/Simon episode will feature Tina Fey returning as host with British songstress Ellie Goulding appearing as musical guest for the first time and the week after has the flashy combo of Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga. It's clear that SNL is hoping to finish the season strong after beginning 2011 with one of its highest rated episodes, the pairing of Jim Carrey and the Black Keys. Timberlake and Fey are obvious pulls for the show, with Timberlake of course a prominent part of what has become one of the most successful sketches for the recent SNL generation, "Dick in a Box." Fey, likewise, rocketed to prominence thanks to her Sarah Palin imitation.
Helms himself may not be as big of an attraction but his role in The Hangover Part II is likely to help lure in viewers. There's always the possibility that Helms' Hangover co-star Zach Galifianakis will make an appearance as he hosted the show earlier in the season.
