Christina Ricci's commercial comeback must not be foiled!

And yet...

Today's tracking suggests that interest in Larry and Andy Wachowski's Speed Racer, in which Ricci stars opposite Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman, is rather anemic.

As of this writing, we're talking a 77 general awareness, 28 definite interest and 3 first choice. The first choice number is what is so troublesome here. It should be 7 or higher. But it rests at 3. Does its intended audience even know that the movie is based on a meaty slice of pop-culture cheese?

That's unlikely, and that's likely part of the problem.
