Katie Holmes Joins The Extra Man

AnyXenu, after her stint on Broadway, word is out that Holmes will be returning to film. This from MTV:

Katie Holmes, Paul Dano, Kevin Kline, and John C. Reilly have signed on to the independent comedy based on Jonathan Ames’ overlooked novel by the same name.

Directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, “Extra Man” follows a failed playwright (played by Kline) who makes his living as a male escort for rich, lonely widows on the Upper East Side. He finds himself acting as a mentor to Paul Dano’s troubled and aspiring playwright.

So, a good cast and the promise of an independent film. Let's hope Katie can rise to the challenge.
