Justin Bieber to Try His Hand at Country

Tweens, rejoice! Between the undeniable (and, for some, inexplicable) success of Taylor Swift and the increased media attention focused on such acts as Lady Antebellum, country-pop is becoming a major musical genre for the “Twilight” crowd, which is bizarre in so many ways. So, it only makes sense that hip-hop icon Justin Bieber would add his own voice to the act, right?
What a sad world we live in. And to think, The Beatles aren’t even selling well on iTunes…
Anyway, The Hollwood Reporter has learned that the Bieber has recently recorded a duet with popular country band Rascal Flatts. Bieber has collaborated with a number of artists before, but most of them were from the hip-hop background that he’s familiar with. This will be his first venture into the realm of country music.
Bieber, like everyone else from his generation of pop stars, expressed his thoughts on the project via Tweet: "I love @RascalFlatts and I'm honored that they are making music with me."
Mhmm. Well, while many an eight-grade girl will probably try to convince you that the Beebz is only doing this because he truly, in his heart, loves the genre and would never possibly sell out, we can’t help but imagine that some shrewd businesspeople had their hands in this mess. Like we said, for better or for worse, country-pop is getting a lot of young fans, and a country-pop song featuring Justin Bieber is bound to make a lot of people a lot of money.
But hey, it’s not like anyone is going to force you to listen to it if you don’t want to. Let the girls drool if they want to.
